Our Areas of Practice

  • Speech sound therapy focuses on improving the accuracy and consistency of speech sound production to support clear and intelligible communication. Intervention may target individual sounds, sound patterns, or motor planning for speech.

  • From first smiles to first words, early communication begins well before children start talking. We support young children in developing pre-linguistic skills such as joint attention, gestures and turn-taking, helping to build a strong foundation for later language and social development.

  • Language development involves both understanding and using language. We support children in building receptive language skills, such as following instructions and understanding vocabulary, as well as expressive language skills, like forming sentences and sharing ideas, supporting confident and effective communication.

  • Strong language skills are essential for developing strong reading and writing. Through literacy-based intervention, we support areas such as sound awareness (phonological awareness), decoding, spelling and reading comprehension. Whether a child is just learning to read or building more advanced literacy skills, therapy can offer strategies to help them feel more confident as readers and learners.

  • Connecting with others involves more than just words. We support children to learn how to take turns in conversation, understand non-verbal cues and build meaningful relationships at their own pace and in their own way.

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes tools and strategies that support communication for children who communicate differently. This may include picture boards, key word sign or speech-generating devices. AAC provides children with empowering ways to express themselves, make choices and engage in everyday interactions.

  • Fluency difficulties, such as stuttering, can present differently in each child. We provide a supportive, child-centred environment where children can learn practical strategies to manage moments of stuttering and build confidence in how they communicate.
